Founded in Shiyan, Hubei Zhongkang Powertrain Co., Ltd. originally focused on domestic sales of auto engine parts. Thanks to the founder’s market vision and strict quality control, it rapidly gained a foothold nationwide.

As market share grew, the company rented about 3,000 ㎡ of factory space in the urban area and invested heavily in the most advanced production equipment at the time, entering the manufacturing of automotive engine parts. Meanwhile, the trading business underwent transformation, setting the direction for Zhongkang's long-term development.

To adapt to market shifts and business expansion, the company ramped up investment to scale up production, adding production lines for 6BT and 6CT engine blocks and cylinder heads. It also recruited top technical talent to lay the groundwork for independent R&D.

Zhongkang obtained import and export qualifications, launching its products globally with export orders totaling approximately US$110,000 in the first year.

As a key investment attraction enterprise of Xiangyang High-tech Zone, Zhongkang was granted 30 mu of land for plant construction and settled officially in Xiangyang High-tech Shenzhen Industrial Park, marking the company’s possession of self-owned factory premises.

The new plant with an investment of tens of millions was completed and put into operation. Equipped with internationally advanced equipment and processes, it realized automated and intelligent production. Drawing on years of accumulated technology, the company set up an R&D department and kept launching new products with independent intellectual property rights. By then, Zhongkang had achieved a qualitative leap in production scale and technical capacity, laying a solid foundation for sustainable growth.

A new trading subsidiary was established to further expand overseas markets. With a global strategic vision and strong market development capabilities, Zhongkang successfully broadened its international reach. Its annual sales surged by over 40% that year, establishing it as a well-known domestic auto parts exporter.

The company made major technological breakthroughs by developing over 20 new product models and diversifying its product lineup. Starting that year, it began supporting renowned enterprises including Dongfeng Co., Ltd., Dongfeng Commercial Vehicles and Dongfeng Auto Parts with OEM processing services, further cementing its leading position in the industry.

After 20 years of development, amid a global economic downturn and industry headwinds, Zhongkang has maintained sound and sustainable growth through continuous technological innovation and product structure optimization. Its output value has kept rising. The company’s self-developed engine block and cylinder head product lines have expanded from over 10 initial models to more than 120 available today.
